The Toronto Real Estate Board reported 5,541 total resales for December 2009 compared to 2,577 transactions recorded for the same period last year. The City of Toronto resales were 2,403 compared with 1,105 for December 2008 , an increase 0f 116 per cent.
The average Toronto resale price in the City was $441,607 a 14 per cent increase from December 2008.
Resale prices for Toronto Condos in the Central districts of Toronto were much higher, from the same period a year ago. Last year the Toronto Real Estate Market really at the bottom because of the world financial crisis but now, a year later Toronto resale prices are coming back to pre-recession figures.
Two standouts were Downtown Toronto Condos, C08 with an increase in price of 32 percent and North York Condos C14 with an increase of 27 percent
