Toronto Waterfront Condos
Home Resale Markets across Canada showed signs of life for the month of February reflecting a gain of 8.6 per cent from January figures.
This was the first increase in monthly resale figures after several months of decline.
Despite February's gains, prices are still down 9.2 per cent and resale home sales down 31 per cent from a year earlier.
It's encouraging February MLS sales marked the first uptick in month-to-month resale activity since September 2008, just perhaps a start, to the Spring Real Estate Market.
February's MLS resale prices across Canada were smaller than year over year drops posted in the past four months and is the first deceleration since turning negative in July 2008 according to CREA.
Canadian resale home prices for February:
- Calgary ( down 10.8 % year over year )
- Greater Vancouver ( -13% )
- Windsor ( -15.7% )
- Toronto ( -5.4% )
- Montreal ( up 2.2% )
- Quebec City ( up 9.3% )
The National average resale home price on MLS was $281,972.
