Toronto Real Estate figures are in for August 2008.

Sales in the GTA declined by 22 per cent from the record August 2007 figures of 8,059 transactions a year ago to 6,318 for August 2008. 

The forecast for average prices in 2008 were in the single digit numbers far from the record breaking average prices in 2007.

The average prices of the Greater Toronto Area were up 2 per cent but the average price in the City of Toronto declined 1 per cent.

 The average resale prices for downtown Toronto Condos, ( C01 ), increased 4 per cent from August 2007 ($329,410) to ($341,668) for August 2008.

Downtown Toronto resale Condos in the  Central Toronto Real Estate district ( C08 ), experienced a 13 per cent increase from an average resale price of $288,701 in 2007 to an average of $324,679 in August 2008.

These downtown Toronto Condos, in the central areas of ( C01 ) and ( C08 ) are holding their price more than the general average price increase.
