I just found the Toronto Condo Market numbers I have been looking for. Approximately 40% of new homes sold in Toronto are Condos and in 2005, a record of more than 17,000 new condos sold in the area. In North America, the next largest market to buy a condo was Miami with 7,500 sold, followed by Chicago 6,800 and New York 6,450.

Residential Condos are every where in the Greater Toronto area from Mississauga to North York and Scarborough numbering about 2000 Condo Towers, ranking behind only New York in number of high-rise. This is most surprising since Chicago and Los Angeles are both larger urban centres.
